Why We Started This Site

Most kayak fishing content online is written by people who already own six kayaks and assume you do too. Kayak Cast Lab is built for the other group: people buying their first fishing kayak, figuring out what actually needs to be on it, and trying not to waste money on gear that doesn’t get used after week two.

What You’ll Find Here

Buying guides for kayaks, fish finders, safety gear, rigging and transport — written around real launch conditions, not spec sheets. We cover the accessories that get overlooked (anchor trolleys, rod holder placement, dry bag sizing) as often as the big-ticket items, because that’s usually where a first season actually goes wrong.
